New Horizons

18 02 2008

Okay, it’s been forever since my last post, and I’m sorry. So here’s a really quick recap of what’s happened since I’ve moved to San Francisco.

I arrived safe and sound at San Francisco International Airport at 8:00AM on February 8th, which was 25 minutes before my flight took off from Saipan. That night, Farah and I had an intimate dinner at Bushi-tei, a really interesting restaurant that fuses French cuisine with Japanese. I would have died a happy man if I was killed after I took my first bite of the tuna tartar. Wish I had a picture, but I didn’t realize Farah had brought her camera until we got to desert.

sftour_0123-600.jpgThe following evening was Farah’s birthday, and we had dinner with some friends at Canto de Brazil. The carnivale dancers were a great treat, and the food was deicious. It was also the first time I got to see my brother since I last saw him in Saipan last summer. Afterwards, we all drove down to Foster City to attend Josh’s “Anti-Valentine’s Day” house party. I have to admit, it was one of the best house parties I have ever been to. It was a new experience for me to hang out with my kid brother like that. I guess we all grow up eventually. Oreo Kenobi

UPDATE: Removed “Angeloda” and replaced with “Millennium Falcon”

Unfortunately, in the process of trying to come up with easy-to-follow instructions, I ended up spending some time playing around with his blog’s header image. Read the rest of this entry »

Packing It Up

28 01 2008

a320takeoff_thumb.jpgMy apologies for not posting anything lately (the monkey video doesn’t count), but I’ve been busy getting everything situated before I leave. For those of you who don’t already know, I’m flying back to San Francisco, CA on February 8th, so that doesn’t really leave me much time to do anything else but prepare.

This is also my last week here at work, so that pretty much means I’m going on a blogging hiatus for a week or two after Friday. That should give me enough time to come up with some new material, particularly the steps for the upcoming tutorials I wish to write.

Be on the lookout for lessons on how to create simple particle streams, how to color match two or more different images, as well as how to optimize Photoshop CS3’s performance on your XP/Vista PC and on your Mac.
